Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that Russian investments in Iraq in the oil field amounted to more than $10 billion.
Lavrov said in a press conference, during his visit to Iraq, that the Russian companies operating in Iraq have investments in the energy field of more than $10 billion.
He added that all trade agreements between Iraq and Russia must take place with the approval of the federal government.
On the other hand, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein said that the relations between Iraq and Russia are historical, and our discussions focused on the economic and commercial side, and the effective role of Russian companies in investing and working in the oil and gas sector.
He added that it is necessary to hold the joint meeting between Iraq and Russia, and that it be held during the current year in Baghdad.
He stressed that the next meeting of the joint committee will discuss the problems facing Russian companies in Iraq and their financial dues.
