    On Monday, the Ministry of Commerce announced the start of selling subsidized foodstuffs in the governorates of Najaf, Salah al-Din and Maysan.

    The director of the company’s branch in Najaf, Haider Shabaa, said in a statement to the official agency, followed by “NAS” (February 6, 2023), that “convoys of subsidized foodstuffs announced by the Ministry of Commerce arrived today in Najaf,” noting that “the sale of subsidized foodstuffs has commenced.” materials to citizens at subsidized prices.  
      
    Shabaa added, "There is a demand from citizens to buy foodstuffs such as table eggs, milk, flour, and chicken," noting that "the company will carry out tours in poor areas to sell these materials there in order to achieve stability in local market prices and help poor families cope with high prices." ".  
      
    For his part, the assistant director of food stores in Salah al-Din, Diaa al-Fahl, said, in a statement to the same agency, that "the company has begun distributing foodstuffs in districts and districts," noting that "the materials include flour, table eggs, milk, and chicken at the subsidized price to limit their high prices in the market." ".  
      
    Al-Fahal continued, "There is a specialized committee from the Ministry of Commerce that will supervise the sale process to citizens," stressing that "the first batch was limited to the center of Salah al-Din Governorate, and the other batches were sold directly in the districts and districts."  
      
    For his part, the director of food products in Maysan, Raed Shaher, said, in a statement to the same agency, that "subsidized foodstuffs have been sold to Maysan families for the purpose of maintaining their prices in the local markets."  
      
    Shaher added, "The prices of the subsidized materials are: table eggs 4,500 dinars per layer, liquid milk 1 liter 1 thousand dinars, zero flour 50 kg 37 thousand dinars, Iraqi chicken 1 kg 3 thousand dinars, and according to the available weights."
