Baghdad / Obelisk: The Integrity Commission announced, on Monday, February 6, 2023, that it was able - through a judicial request - to stop the disbursement of approximately (60) billion dinars from the Ministry of Housing and Construction to the company executing a project in Karbala Governorate.
The Commission’s Investigation Department, speaking about the details of the case that it investigated and referred to the judiciary, reported that it had received information about the existence of violations in the Ministry of Construction and Housing.
And it indicated that it took the initiative to take measures to investigate, investigate and audit the case, as all the subject matter priorities were moved and presented to the External Audit Division of the Authority, who diagnosed the existence of a number of observations and violations, represented by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Municipalities approaching the Ministry of Finance, for the purpose of financing its account; In order to disburse an amount of more than 58 billion and 624 million in contravention of the decisions of the Federal Courts of Appeal and Cassation, pointing to the objection of the Ministry of Finance in several books, in which it requested the audit of the Federal Office of Financial Supervision.
And she added that the audit procedures were completed, and the case was brought before the attention of the Second Karkh Investigation Court, which in turn decided to stop the disbursement of the amount, and to notify the Ministries of Finance and Construction and Housing and Municipalities of that.
