    The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy, Mehdi Safri, who is currently visiting Baghdad, announced promises to Iraqi officials about urgently repaying debts to Iran.

    And according to the Mehr News Agency, "The Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister, Mahdi Safri, drew attention to the meeting that he had today in Baghdad with the President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdul Latif Rashid, saying: Iraq will pay its debts to Iranian companies soon."  
      
    Regarding the message he conveyed from the First Vice President of the Republic to the Iraqi Prime Minister, he said: “Mr. Al-Sudani announced the payment of financial debts to Iranian companies and also the inclusion of a decision to finance the completion of railway projects between Basra and Shalamjah (in Khuzestan Province) and the Khosravi highway to Baghdad is within the new year's budget for this country.  
      
    The Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy also pointed out, "The resumption of the meeting of the joint economic cooperation committee between Iran and Iraq in a period of no more than a month, after a break that took years."  
      
    While according to Mehr, he stressed the need to develop relations between Tehran and Baghdad in various economic and trade fields, expressing his hope to achieve positive results in this regard.

    Baghdad today - follow-up
    The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy, Mehdi Safri, who is currently visiting Baghdad, announced that Iraqi officials promised to pay debts to Iranian companies urgently.
    And the Iranian Mehr News Agency quoted that the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mehdi Safri, referred to the meeting that he had today in Baghdad with the President of the Republic of Iraq, “Abdul Latif Rashid,” saying: “Iraq will pay its debts to Iranian companies soon.”
