The Ministerial Council of Economy discussed facilitating the work of the electricity sector, activating the single window system for the industrial sector, while issuing decisions and recommendations for the development of Iraqi industry.
And the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, in a statement, which Mawazine News received, a copy of it, that “Deputy Prime Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein chaired, on Monday, the fifth meeting of the Ministerial Council for the Economy, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Planning, Ministers of Finance, Industry, Agriculture, Labor and Social Affairs, the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers and the Governor of the Central Bank. Al-Iraqi, the head of the National Commission for Investment, and advisors to the Prime Minister for economic and legal affairs.
And she added, "The council hosted the Minister of Electricity and the heads of the border crossings and customs authorities to discuss facilitating the work of the electricity sector by simplifying the procedures for entering materials and goods belonging to the ministries of electricity and oil in order to mobilize all efforts to support the efforts of the Ministry of Electricity to improve and increase processing and preparation hours before the upcoming summer season." The council also discussed the economic issues on its agenda and took many economic decisions regarding them.
She indicated, "The council hosted the head of the Federation of Iraqi Industries to discuss the reality of the work of the industrial sector and took many decisions and recommendations that contribute to the development of Iraqi industry, including a recommendation to the Council of Ministers to simplify the procedures for allocating land for industrial projects by activating the single window system in the presence of representatives of the Real Estate Department." The state, municipalities and concerned departments in the General Directorate of Industrial Development, leasing agricultural lands for industrial projects in accordance with Industrial Investment Law No. 20 of 1998 and not according to the Law of Selling and Renting State Funds and accelerating procedures for granting environmental approvals within a time limit not exceeding 90 days, emphasizing the activation of Cabinet Resolution No. 227 For the year 2020 and the simplification of its implementation procedures related to the ownership of lands on which industrial projects are built, in addition to reducing the prices of the fuel share and black oil to the oxidized asphalt plants by 35% less than the price of the international bulletin.
