Wael al-Rikabi, a member of the State of Law coalition led by Nuri al-Maliki, announced on Monday that the Iraqi government's measures against smuggling currency to any country.

Al-Rikabi said, in an interview conducted with him by colleague Ahmed Al-Tayeb, followed by “NAS” (February 6, 2023), that “the Sudanese government’s measures against smuggling currency to any country, whether it is a neighbor or far away, and I do not imagine that any Iraqi wants to create harm to his country’s economy.” .
He added, "The occupations are no longer as they were before through military mechanisms and soldiers, and the occupation may be of another kind when large countries control the capabilities of small Middle Eastern countries such as Iraq, and this is at the level of decision-making power."
He continued, "It is possible for the government to find real outlets when it comes to competition or predominance between the interest of Iraq or other interests. Here comes the wise process that the prime minister is supposed to embody clearly and truly."
He pointed out that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani announced the absence of giving priority to the interest of the state over the interest of Iraq," noting that "the American-Iranian conflict is not imposed on Iraq."
