    Baghdad / Obelisk: An Iraqi government delegation in Washington is discussing a number of files, most notably security, the dollar, and the strategic framework agreement.
    Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein is accompanied by the new Central Bank Governor Ali Al-Alaq, Finance Minister Taif Sami, and a number of government officials.
    The delegation was supposed to be headed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, but the failure to do so means a coldness in the relationship between his government and the White House, or the lack of enthusiasm on both sides for this meeting.
    According to the sources, Iraq is trying to organize procedures for converting hard currency (dollars) and obtaining new exemptions from US sanctions against Iran and Russia.
    It is expected that Washington will put pressure on Iraq regarding the relationship with Iran and Syria, and the role of the factions in Iraq.
    And in the event that the two sides did not reach an agreement, the odds are that the dollar crisis will return again.
    On the other hand, the factions in Iraq hold the card of escalation against the US military presence, as this file will be the focus of discussion in the meeting.
    The US-Iraqi meeting coincides with the visit of the Russian Foreign Minister, Lavrov, to Baghdad.
    Political analyst Ahmed al-Khidr says that the undeclared goals behind Lavrov's visit to Baghdad are related to the dollar crisis and Washington's pressure on Iraq, with a warning not to prejudice the policies of the Organization of "OPEC" for the oil-exporting countries, as well as the American pressure that allowed the Kurdistan region to sell gas outside the will and framework of the organization.
    In anticipation of the Iraqi delegation's visit to Washington, sources revealed, according to Al Arabiya, that Washington had informed Baghdad of the need to stop the factions' attacks on the coalition forces.
    And passing by Lavrov's visit, the Iraqi delegation is discussing with Washington how to pay dues to Russian energy companies despite the sanctions.
