Shafaq News/ On Thursday, the representative of the coordination framework, Ibtisam Al-Hilali, accused the Presidency of the Iraqi Parliament of committing legal violations in the mechanism for selecting the heads of parliamentary committees, revealing at the same time her intention to file a lawsuit with the Federal Supreme Court in this regard.
Al-Hilali told Shafaq News agency, “What happened on Wednesday of electing the presidency of the Parliamentary Women, Family and Childhood Committee is unfair, and contrary to the law and the rules of procedure of the Parliament,” noting that “she will file a lawsuit in the Federal Court and challenge the election mechanism.”

She added, “The presidency of the House of Representatives and the parties took the dark rooms as a place to manipulate the law and the internal system of the parliament in the process of electing the presidency of the Parliamentary Women, Family and Childhood Committee, through the participation of non-essential members in the election process and voting for the chairmanship of the committee.”
And Al-Hilali continued, by saying that "the presidency of Parliament and the political parties ignored the experience, competence and competence, and did not adopt it in the process of electing the chair of the committees," according to her expression.
The Women, Family and Childhood Committee, in the presence of the Presidency of Parliament, elected Representative Donia Al-Shammari as Chairman, Representative Nawras Al-Issa as First Deputy, and Representative Sarwa Muhammad as Second Deputy.
The Iraqi Council of Representatives recently voted on the members of its 25 parliamentary committees, after it canceled previous decisions regarding the distribution of its deputies to those committees. He proceeded to select the chairs and their deputies for those committees.
And the "Ishraqa Canon" parliamentary bloc had reported at the end of last January that "the opposition blocs have been excluded from the positions of chairpersons of parliamentary committees and their deputies," noting that "the process of electing chairpersons of the committees is quota .”
After that, the House of Representatives issued a statement in which it considered that the information mentioned by the "Ishraqa Qanun" bloc was "untrue," stressing that "the parliamentary committees in the House of Representatives elected their heads and deputies in a democratic practice." , in which all the parliamentary blocs represented in the House participated."
Yesterday, Tuesday, representatives of minorities in the Iraqi parliament called on Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi to reconsider the distribution of presidencies in parliamentary committees, after what they called their deliberate exclusion and lack of representation in them.
