The American “Twisted Sifter” website, which specializes in scientific and diversified news, reported that the “Garden of Eden” described in religious books may be in Iraq.
According to a report by the American website, there are many questions about the actual location of the Garden of Eden, which is described in the New Testament of the Bible.
At the outset, the report called for a distinction between the story of the biblical Garden of Eden and the actual location, adding that according to the book of the Bible, the first human ever, that is, Adam and Eve, lived in this paradise, but they succumbed to the temptation to eat the forbidden fruit, indicating that the story is religious in nature and related to interpretation. Human free will is about knowledge, evil and death.
But regardless of the religious narrative, there is evidence that this legendary garden represented by the Garden of Eden is based on a real geographical location, and that there are references to evidence about it in the Book of Genesis, where it talks about the Tigris River that emerges from Eden to water paradise, and from there it branches out. It is divided into four waterways, the first of which bears the name Bishon, which refers to the Al-Huwailah region, where gold is found, according to the American report.
As for the second river, its name is Gihon, which is supposed to be in the land of the land of Kush, while the third river bears the name of the Tigris, which goes to the east of Assyria, while the fourth bears the name of the Euphrates River.
The report indicated that the two rivers referred to, specifically the Tigris and Euphrates, start in Turkey and flow through Syria and Iraq before flowing into the Gulf. As for the other two rivers, that is, the Bishon and the Jihon, it is not known what they are.
The report indicated, “These two rivers refer, according to some theologians, to the Ganges River in India and the Nile River in Egypt, which may mean the Garden of Eden, which included a large part of the land.
Referring to the corridor between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, and the Shatt al-Arab river, it is suggested that the Garden of Eden is linked to an area in Iraq and Iran near the Gulf, according to the American website.
As for the scientific side, the first humans lived on a completely different continent, that is, Africa, where the largest gathering of human ancestor remains, including the remains of Australopithecus, an ape-like human race between 3.4 and 3.7 million years old, is located about 50 km from Johannesburg in South Africa.
