Shafaq News/ The Speaker of Kurdistan Region Parliament, Rewaz Fayek, saw today, Sunday, that some laws in the region need to be amended, noting at the same time that Kurdistan has "the best laws of freedom of expression."

"What is in society in the name of freedom of expression is slaughtering freedom of expression," Faeq said during a press conference held today, in the parliament building, which was attended by Shafaq News Agency.
The Speaker of the Kurdistan Region Parliament added, "We have the best laws in the region for demonstrations, the press, and access to information, but we have a problem with its implementation."
"We are in a crisis at the societal level, and none of us is protected," she said, warning, "We are being insulted and we are in danger, and what is happening in the name of freedom of expression is the slaughter of freedom of expression."
She explained that "all reports on the status of the press and freedom of expression will not be resolved by denying them," adding that "the reports contain a lot of truth, and continuous denial will not solve the situation."
And she indicated that "some laws need to be amended to keep pace with events."
