Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Halbousi, met on Sunday with the President of the Egyptian Senate, Abdel Wahhab Abdel Razzaq, in Cairo.
According to a statement by Al-Halbousi's office, the meeting discussed "bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and strengthening means of cooperation in all fields, as well as tripartite cooperation between Iraq, Egypt and Jordan, to achieve economic integration."
The meeting also discussed "the importance of uniting Arab efforts to face challenges," and Al-Halbousi stressed, "the need for a clear Arab role, and for the leadership and Arab countries, including Egypt, to adopt at all levels the return of Syria to its Arab surroundings."
For his part, the President of the Egyptian Senate indicated that "his country supports cooperation and partnership between the two countries, and everything that contributes to achieving political and economic stability in Iraq, praising" what he has reached now after years of various challenges.
