Shafaq News/ The President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, met on Saturday, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Germany, with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
During the meeting, the two sides stressed the common desire to develop bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and Azerbaijan, to increase the volume of trade exchange and to visit official delegations.
And the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan announced that work will be done to open a consulate general for his country in Erbil, at the same time calling on President Nechirvan Barzani to visit Baku.
A statement issued by the region's presidency stated that during the meeting, many issues related to the situation in the region in general and the need to maintain security and stability were also discussed.
