Today, Tuesday, the US Ambassador to Baghdad, Alina Romanowski, expressed the United States' support for the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shi'a al-Sudani.
The media office of the National Security Adviser stated in a statement that “National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji received today, in his office, the US Ambassador to Baghdad, Alina Romanowsky,” noting that “Al-Araji discussed with the US ambassador the latest developments in the political and security situation in Iraq and the region.”
He added, "The meeting also discussed the file of the Al-Hol and Al-Jada'a camps, and the strategic framework agreement, as well as ways to continue cooperation and coordination in confronting terrorism."
Al-Araji stressed, according to the statement, "the importance of strengthening strategic relations between Iraq and the United States, in a way that serves the common interests of the two countries, consolidates Iraq's sovereignty, and enhances the security and stability of the region."
For her part, the American ambassador expressed "the United States' support for the Sudanese government and its promising government program," stressing "the country's continued support for Iraq in the areas of combating terrorism, strengthening the Iraqi economy, and exchanging experiences and information."
