Today, Friday, the Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Parliaments, Fayez Shawabkeh, affirmed Iraq's readiness to open the conference of the Arab Parliament Union in its 34th session tomorrow, while expressing his optimism about the outcomes of the conference held in Baghdad.
Shawabkeh told the official agency that "tomorrow, Saturday, will be the official opening of the 34th Conference of the Union of Arab Parliaments," noting that "all preparations from the Iraqi side are ready."
He added, "The arrival of all Arab parliament speakers will conclude today, expressing optimism about the conference's outputs, expecting them to be distinguished and above the level of ambition."
He continued, "The members of the Executive Committee have a desire to develop and activate the work of the Union and focus on issues of common interest among the Arab countries."
