The President of the Republic and the Italian Ambassador discuss the program of his visit to Rome

Yesterday, Monday, the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Rashid, discussed with the Italian Ambassador, Maurizio Cricanti, the program of his visit to Rome at an official invitation, while stressing the need to strengthen relations between Iraq and the European Union.
A presidential statement stated, "The President of the Republic received the Italian ambassador to Iraq, and during the meeting they discussed the program of the upcoming visit of the President to Italy based on an invitation extended to the President of the Republic by Italian President Sergio Mattarella, which is the first visit organized by an Iraqi president."
The President of the Republic stressed, according to the statement, "the need to develop bilateral relations and enhance aspects of cooperation and investment between Iraq and Italy in a way that serves common interests," noting "the importance of coordination and exchange of experiences and visits between the two countries, especially with regard to the maintenance of dams, irrigation projects and agriculture."
In turn, the Italian ambassador stressed, "his country's desire to strengthen relations and expand ways of cooperation with Iraq in various fields and for the benefit of the two peoples."

Meanwhile, the President of the Republic stressed the need to strengthen relations between Iraq and the European Union.
Another statement stated that, "Rashid received a delegation of members of the European Parliament, which included Sarah Skettidal, Dominic Ruiz Devisa, and Marco Campo Minosi, and during the meeting they reviewed the existing relations between Iraq and the European Union."
Rashid stressed, according to the statement, "the need to strengthen these relations," pointing to "the importance of broad cooperation and coordination between Iraq and the European Union."
For their part, the members of the delegation affirmed "the support of the European Parliament to consolidate the security and stability of Iraq and the well-being of its citizens, and the aspiration towards strengthening the horizons of cooperation and joint coordination in a way that develops joint relations."
In addition, the President of the Republic stressed the need to adopt standards of merit and integrity in appointments.
The statement indicated, "The President of the Republic received the Chairman of the Federal Service Council, Mahmoud Al-Tamimi."
The President of the Republic stressed "the necessity of advancing public service affairs and building human capacities in a way that enhances creativity and excellence and ensures the building of effective government institutions." For his part, Al-Tamimi appreciated the directives of the President of the Republic, reviewing the workflow of the Council and the plans set to develop and strengthen the public service sector.
