    The first and second readings of the amendment to the election law sparked intense political debate. Supporters consider it a step because it is the election debate, while opponents pointed to serving the large political blocs.


    The political debate returned once again through the election portal, but this time through its law, which was discussed by the House of Representatives in two stages, in preparation for its approval in the coming days.
    The draft law relates to the return of the St. Lego electoral system amended according to an electoral denominator of 1.9, which will return Iraq - if approved by Parliament - to the work of a single electoral district system for each governorate and the abolition of the multiple constituency formula.





    Supporters of the law stressed the country's need today to return to St. Lego, after the recent electoral experience, which proved that the political debate that accompanied the results of the last elections was due to the lack of a real bloc that could comfortably form the government, which is the role that the "St. Lego" law can play at the level of facilitation. The political process, while opponents of the new law referred to serving the large political blocs, which prompted its rejection by the October protests.
