The Parliamentary Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee announced, on Wednesday, that the 2023 budget will witness the conclusion of contracts with major international companies to work on gas production.
Committee member Alaa Al-Haidari said in an interview with the official newspaper, "Al-Sabah", which was followed by Mawazine News, that "the Ministry of Oil's approach to the next stage is to invest gas wealth in the field of energy production, especially electricity."
He explained, "The associated gas burning operations must end as soon as possible, especially since most international companies are ready to enter Iraq and invest in gas fields, in addition to the Ministry of Electricity's intention to benefit from the gas produced to operate the stations that were contracted with Siemens and the rest of the other companies." .
For his part, a spokesman for the Ministry of Oil, Assem Jihad, said, "
