“We do not want the political forces in the region to take decisions on behalf of the components,” Hamdad Sabah, the head of the Turkmen Front bloc in the Kurdistan Parliament, said, indicating their support for holding parliamentary elections according to the single-circuit system.[/size]
[size=45]Next Monday, the Presidency of the Parliament of Kurdistan will meet with representatives of the political forces of the components, to take a final decision on the form of elections for the components (quota) seats.[/size]
[size=45]"We will participate in the meeting scheduled for next Monday," Hamdad Sabah added in a statement to Kurdistan 24, stressing that "we do not want the political forces in the region to take decisions on behalf of the components."[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out that "the components were greatly damaged in the recent parliamentary elections in Iraq, due to the adoption of the multiple constituency system," noting, "Therefore, we are insisting on electing the components' seats in the Kurdistan Parliament elections according to the one-constituency system."[/size]
[size=45]He continued, "We, as the second national component in the Kurdistan Region, believe that it is our right to allocate more seats for us in the Kurdistan Parliament."[/size]
