Former MP Jassim Al-Bayati confirmed that the general atmosphere in Parliament is with the change towards the system of one electoral district for each governorate and moving forward with 1.7 for the electoral denominator of the St. Lego system.
Al-Bayati told Al-Maalouma, "The election law will make each province a single constituency, but there is a difference over the distribution mechanism according to the St. Lego system. It is expected, according to the available information, that the electoral divider of St. Lego 1.7 will proceed."
He added that "independents in the House of Representatives reject the new election law, in addition to that some parties seek to take into account the Sadrist movement with regard to the various constituencies, although the leader of the movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, did not issue any statement regarding the elections in terms of participation or not."
And that "the general atmosphere within the House of Representatives indicates the advancement of the single-circuit system instead of the multiple constituencies that were implemented in the last elections." ended 25 n
