A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Representative Mudar Al-Karawi, confirmed, on Tuesday, that amending the salary scale will be presented to the Council of Ministers within weeks.
Al-Karawi said in a press interview, “The Parliamentary Finance Committee discussed yesterday extensively the amendment of the salary scale for Iraqi state institutions, and it was agreed on 4 specific points, the most prominent of which is the minimum salary at 425 thousand dinars for employees of the tenth grade, with allowances for improving living of up to 50%.” .
He added, "There are other meetings that will take place during the coming period in order to resolve all points," noting that "the amendment of the salary scale was presented to the Council of Ministers for approval, and it will take place within weeks from now."
He pointed out, "the importance of adjusting the salary scale and helping the simple segments of state employees by raising their wages and monthly allowances at a level that helps in facing high prices and annual inflation."
Many consider amending the salary scale to enhance the capabilities of hundreds of thousands of employees by increasing their monthly salaries.
