    Baghdad Today - Follow-up
The day after the US authorities announced the closure of the “Silicon Valley Bank” bank after its bankruptcy, pages on the communication sites circulated a video clip from the cartoon series “The Simpsons”, which said that it expected the bankruptcy of the American bank.
But the claim is wrong and the image used in the video is modified.
The video shows a scene from the "The Simpsons" series inside a bank with "Silicon Valley Bank" written on its front in Latin letters.
The publishers commented, "The first to predict the bankruptcy of Silicon Valley Bank was the famous American cartoon series, The Simpsons."
The circulation of this clip came in the context of the announcement by the US authorities, on Friday, that they had closed the “Silicon Valley Bank”, which was no longer able to meet the massive withdrawals made by clients of their money, and they are active especially in the field of technology.
    The fact of the post
However, the claim that the series "The Simpsons" predicted the bankruptcy of the American bank is incorrect.
An inspection of the video, after cutting it into still scenes, leads to the same clip posted on YouTube in 2016, and the name “First Bank of Springfield” appears on the front of the bank, and Springfield is the name of the fictional area in which the events of the series take place.
This means that the clip was modified by replacing the name of the original bank with the name of Silicon Valley Bank, to falsely suggest that the series predicted the bank's bankruptcy.
The clip dates back to episode 21 of the sixth season, which was broadcast in 1995.
It is not the first time that misleading publications have spread claiming to predict the American series of notable events around the world, and a number of them have already been refuted by the news checking service at Agence France-Presse.
