    Today, Tuesday, Finance Minister Taif Sami headed the Iraqi delegation to the meetings of the Ministerial Council of the OPEC Fund for International Development.


    The media office of the Ministry of Finance said in a statement received by Alsumaria News: "Iraq participated in the periodic meeting of the OPEC Fund for International Development held in the Austrian capital, Vienna, headed by Finance Minister Taif Sami Muhammad and Undersecretary Masoud Haidar."






    He added, "The Minister of Finance discussed, in bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the meeting, developing a future strategy with the OPEC Fund for International Development, to maximize development cooperation efforts between Iraq and the Fund, and support national priorities, especially with regard to stimulating private sector participation in development and climate efforts."

    The office indicated that "the meetings discuss ways to enhance and develop frameworks of cooperation and joint action among member states, and its role in enhancing efforts to achieve sustainable development, by financing the implementation of many projects in priority development sectors, and their positive impact on the lives of citizens of member states."

    The office stated that "the establishment of the fund came by the member states of OPEC with the aim of accelerating development and financing projects in vital sectors such as food, energy, infrastructure, employment, small and medium enterprises, water and sanitation, and others."
