Today, Tuesday, the financial and economic researcher, Nabil Jabbar Al-Tamimi, revealed the existence of operations to smuggle gold out of Iraq as a measure related to facilitating the smuggling of dollars and black remittances.
Al-Tamimi said, to (Baghdad Today), that: “There is smuggling of gold, by exporting it abroad at more than the normal and usual rate previously,” indicating, “This smuggling is linked to the issue of smuggling dollars and black remittances.”
He explained, "There are those working to liquidate money (cash liquidity) for remittances through the export of gold, and this matter is an indication, and currently there is a great demand in the gold market for (used fractional gold), until its price reached a very small difference from the price of new gold."
