A member of the Parliamentary Human Rights Committee, Hussein Mardan, acknowledged that human rights issues in Iraq are moving slowly.
Mardan told Al-Sabah, "Human rights issues are always complex and complex, and it is not easy to complete their procedures and legislate a law on them."
He added, "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani and his advisor for human rights affairs are very interactive in the files that need continuous investigation."
He explained that "all the files he is working on at the present time have not been announced," pointing to "the formation of specialized committees that work silently and secretly."
Mardan criticized "human rights issues that are raised in the media, which are shrouded in a lot of confusion," noting that "the Prime Minister's Human Rights Adviser received complaints regarding attacks on demonstrators by the security forces and vice versa, which are linked episodes."
A member of the Human Rights Committee expected that "the coming days will witness the emergence of many details related to the work of the committee."
