Shafaq News/ The representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jeanine Plasschaert called, on Wednesday, the federal government to combat the rampant financial and administrative corruption in state departments and institutions, and to address the problem of unemployment within society, warning at the same time of the return of mass demonstrations in the country if a solution is not resolved Those problems facing the Iraqi state.
Blaskhart said in a speech during the Seventh Sulaymaniyah Forum, that after the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime, challenges emerged that faced the Iraqi government, represented by external and sectarian interventions, the war against ISIS, the spread of the Corona virus, and climate changes, and despite the passage of 20 years, these challenges are still continuing.

She added that Iraq needs to address these challenges, adding that there is another problem facing Iraq, which is widespread corruption and lack of job opportunities, and the government should address it.
Blaskhart also indicated that the Iraqi people are concerned about these challenges, which led to the demonstrations sweeping the country and taking to the streets, stressing that Iraq has a strong and good ability to overcome the difficulties it faces, and after the formation of the current federal government, the opportunity has become available to overcome these challenges and time is also available for that, but This requires coordination, joint action, and the commitment of all parties and authorities to work within the country's supreme national interests.
And the UN envoy warned, saying that if the political problems are not resolved, the Iraqi government will not be able to provide job opportunities, and the possibility of the return of the demonstrations is possible.
She continued by saying that Erbil and Baghdad must resolve differences and outstanding issues through dialogue and in accordance with the country's permanent constitution.
