    [rtl]Iraq intends to reopen its embassy in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, in order to stimulate work between the two countries and to serve the Iraqi community there. 

    The Iraqi desire came during a visit by an Iraqi diplomatic delegation to the capital, Tripoli, and returned yesterday to Baghdad. It was headed by the head of the administrative department, Ihsan Allawi, and each of the assistant head of the Arab department, the advisor Muhannad al-Mayahi, the assistant head of the protocol department, the advisor Azhar Ali, and the assistant head of the legal department, the advisor Muhammad Abbas Mohsen, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, and the assistant head of the Finance Department, Hussein Makki. 

    The delegation referred to "Iraq's desire for the possibility of reopening the Iraqi embassy in Libya," attributing this to "playing its role in revitalizing political and diplomatic work in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly countries, as well as providing services." and consular work to the Iraqi community residing in Libya," according to the statement.

    The statement indicated that the Iraqi delegation met with the Libyan National Security Adviser, Ibrahim Bushnaf, in the capital, Tripoli, and during the meeting, they discussed "bilateral and fraternal relations between the two countries." 

    The delegation assured the Libyan side, "Iraq's support for international efforts to restore security and stability in Libya, and to adopt a political option that meets the aspirations of the Libyan people." 

    For their part, Libyan officials "expressed their readiness to provide assistance and facilities for the return of the Iraqi embassy in Tripoli to work, and to overcome all difficulties in this regard," according to a statement by the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.[/rtl]
