Shafaq News/ Representatives of 83 countries from around the world arrived this morning, Saturday, in the city of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, to participate in the March and Nowruz Festival.
According to the information received, the representatives of the countries will hold meetings with officials in the region on the sidelines of the visit.
In this regard, the official of the Department of Foreign Relations in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Sven Diziyi, said in a statement to reporters he made from Erbil International Airport during his reception with representatives of countries, that the Newroz holiday coincides with a shift in the year 1991, when all of the Kurdistan region was liberated, and the uprising became the reason for the formation of a free region Indicating that since 1991, we have made efforts to expand the region's international relations day after day.
He explained that at the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, representatives of countries and diplomatic missions from Baghdad and Erbil will participate in these ceremonies.
And in the city of Erbil, last Saturday, the March and Newroz festivals began with the opening of the mural of the martyr Khaja Bawa, the first female victim of the 1991 uprising in the Kurdistan Region.
