On Saturday, the spokesman for the Iraqi Awakening, Dhari Abu Risha, accused close associates of the Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, of being involved in the attempt to assassinate the head of the Awakening Council, Sheikh Sattam Abu Risha, indicating that the Speaker of the Parliament is trying to use the Awakening file in his favor.
Abu Risha said in a televised interview, followed by Al-Maalouma, that "Sheikh Sattam adopts the file of the rights of the sons of the Awakening Movement, which is being subjected to political blackmail by the ruling party."
He added, "The sons of the Awakening Movement should not compromise on their rights, and the government should remove him from the political arena, and that the Speaker of the House of Representatives is trying to use the Awakening file in his favor."
He pointed out that "the elements that fired at the Sons of the Awakening Conference were targeting the crowd, and that the place from which the bullets were fired resides in which an advancing party and armed elements live." End 25
