{International: Al Furat News} Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said, "The relationship with Riyadh has returned to normal after 5 rounds of Baghdad talks," which took place over the past two years.
"I will soon meet the Saudi foreign minister, and there is an agreement between Tehran and Riyadh to return diplomatic relations between the two countries to normal," Abdullahian said in a press statement.
He pointed to the visit of the Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, to Baghdad, "which will witness the signing of a comprehensive security agreement with Iraq."
And Saudi Arabia and Iran announced on March 10, under the auspices of China, the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the reopening of their embassies and representations.
The two countries will also work to activate the security cooperation agreement and hold talks on strengthening bilateral relations.
According to a tripartite statement issued by Iran, Saudi Arabia and China, relations between Riyadh and Tehran will resume and the two embassies will reopen within a period not exceeding two months.
The two sides expressed their thanks to China, as well as to Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman for hosting previous talks in 2021 and 2022. Al-Jazeera Channel, [03/19/2023 02:26 PM]
