Iraq is coordinating with the United Nations to support the housing sector

The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities coordinates with the United Nations Human Settlements Program (Habitat) to support the sector
housing in the country.
Reconstruction Minister Benkin Rikani said, in an interview with Al-Sabah: A meeting took place with the director of the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) to develop mechanisms to support the housing sector in the country, adding that the Council of Ministers had formed a central committee to standardize construction standards and new residential cities with the aim of Maintain state funds and regulate the planning aspects of cities.
He expressed the ministry's welcome for any attribution or support to raise the capabilities of its housing department to develop the performance of its employees and provide it with modern electronic systems that provide accurate data on the housing sector to draw
policies and implementation mechanisms.
In the same context, Rakany explained that the director of Habitat in the country confirmed the existence of a joint cooperation agreement between the government and the European Union, which includes the latter's support for the country in the field of developing the housing sector, training youth and creating job opportunities for them, in addition to providing low-cost housing for people with limited income, in a manner consistent with With government orientation in the field of housing.
