    A member of the committee, Ali al-Mashkoor, told Al-Furat News that: "Although the government has not yet sent the oil and gas law, we and with the government's announcement of approving this law within the ministerial curriculum, we started with the committee to study the law and identify observations, points of contention and outstanding issues."
    Al-Mashkoor explained, "The study came with the aim of alleviating all obstacles in a way that does not harm any of the parties or any of the governorates."
    After years of continuous disputes between the center and the region, the flame of rapprochement ignited between the two parties to resolve the oil and gas law, which took a long period of neglect due to the disagreement over how to manage oil wealth, especially after the visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani to the Kurdistan region.
    For his part, a member of the Parliamentary Oil and Gas Committee, Ali Shaddad, confirmed that the general political agreement led by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’a al-Sudani between the federal governments and the Kurdistan region took the first step by agreeing on the form of the budget law, immediately after which work will be done to legislate the oil and gas law, which is one of the controversial points. for which the problem was raised.
