The specialist in economic affairs, Muhammad Attia Al-Saadi, ruled out that the Sudanese would work on the principle of arming Turkey, but took a number of economic files that preceded the main file of his visit related to the issue of water.
Al-Saadi said in a press interview seen by Taqaddam, that “Al-Sudani’s visit to Ankara bore a broad title of promoting trade and energy with Turkey, but the water file is the most important, and therefore all discussions and all agreements will take place in terms of common interests, as Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani worked before his visit.” To Ankara to announce a set of goals that carry major economic and commercial temptations between Iraq and Turkey.
He added, "Al-Sudani avoided the language of escalation and the use of a policy of arming Turkey by putting pressure on Turkey economically through a trade boycott estimated at twenty billion dollars annually, and far from counting calls for internationalizing the water file in global forums and bringing the two countries into international courts, which may take years to no avail."
And he indicated that “the Prime Minister proposed a balanced language that carries the language of common interests, in a proactive step that takes place for the first time. The Prime Minister addressed Ankara with frank expressions, ‘Let us agree,’ waving the paper of the port of Faw and the Dry Canal, that is the largest project in the region, which is expected to change the map of global transport between Asia and Europe.” Thousands of kilometers are shortened at sea, thus achieving huge financial and economic benefits and revenues for Iraq and Turkey.
