The Prime Minister said in an interview with Al-Iraqiya News before his return to the homeland from the Turkish capital, Ankara: "We held an extensive meeting with Turkish businessmen and investors, and most of the attendees are in Iraq and have been working for a long time, and we listened to a number of obstacles that hinder their work and in the same They explained the specialties and areas of work of their companies.
He added, "Through this review, we found that most of these specializations and these works fall within the government's priorities, which are affirmed to improve services and diversify the economy by activating the national industry, agriculture, road projects, energy transmission, and hospitals." He continued, "The government is committed to removing all obstacles, and we announced that the Ministry of Interior has given the Iraqi embassy in Ankara and the consulates in Istanbul and Gaziantep powers to facilitate the granting of entry visas, and we will discuss providing more facilities regarding financial transfers through local and foreign banks approved by the Central Bank." He pointed out that “the hadith now has two parts:
He pointed out that "Iraq is serious today in expanding and developing aspects of cooperation with Turkey, and during the visit we held serious and fruitful discussions and announcing the (development path) project, one of the most important fruits of this visit, which is a vital project not only for the region but for the whole world."
Regarding the water file, Al-Sudani stressed that "Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made an important decision regarding increasing water releases that will contribute to providing drinking water to the provinces, and this file will be subject to technical reading and exchange of views through joint committees to secure fair and rational shares in light of the conditions of scarcity to deliver water." to the central and southern governorates. Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani returned to the homeland yesterday, Wednesday, after the conclusion of his official visit to the Republic of Turkey, in which he was accompanied by a senior government delegation. Al-Sudani met in Ankara with a number of businessmen, investors, representatives of federations and officials in the Turkish private sector, in the presence of the Turkish Minister of Trade, Muhammad Moush.
The Prime Minister outlined the understandings reached with the Turkish side during the visit, stemming from a real will to move the two countries towards strengthening relations in all fields, the most important of which is the work of Turkish companies and investors in Iraq and the facilitation of trade exchange. Al-Sudani referred, according to a statement by his media office, to the government's work priorities, foremost of which are the service sector, housing, transportation, building schools, and joint operation of hospitals in partnership with the private sector, calling on Turkish businessmen to contribute to infrastructure projects and promising investment opportunities.
He explained the importance of the government adopting a budget for three years, which will reflect positively on the flow of financing for companies and ease of implementation, as well as government measures to encourage the investment environment in Iraq, and eliminate bureaucracy, red tape and corruption.
And he indicated the importance of including in the budget law the "Development Fund for Iraq" project, and the funds branching from it, which is a project whose philosophy depends on the implementation of the private sector.
And he talked about the importance of the development road project, which the advisory studies indicate that it will favor it as a transport corridor for goods and energy in the coming years, and that the Al-Faw port project is witnessing parallel implementation of detailed and supporting projects, in addition to the main project.
Al-Sudani called on Turkish businessmen to settle their industrial and commercial activities in the industrial city attached to the port, and to expedite the reservation of a site for them that would facilitate their contribution to this promising economic path, and to be part of this vital growing area.
The Prime Minister promised to continue taking decisions that facilitate the work of investors, the most important of which is the decision to facilitate obtaining entry visas, and to remove any obstacles that prevent the flow of economic and investment activity.
For their part, Turkish businessmen and investors expressed their appreciation for the Iraqi government's actions and the steps taken to encourage investment, and pledged to contribute to strategic projects, infrastructure projects and growing services in Iraq.
