The so-called Central Committee for Demonstrations announced a sit-in in front of the House of Representatives, on Friday, to protest against the vote on the election law according to the Saint-Lego system, which is scheduled for next Saturday's session.
A statement by the committee, which I have seen, stated, “The corrupt have decided to restore their old unjust electoral laws, in order to ensure the survival of their parties, ignoring the opinion of the majority of the people and the reference that rejects that. We are at the gates of the holy month.
He added, "We call on the Iraqis to respond to the nation's call on Friday, 3-24-2023 at nine o'clock in the evening,
The Iraqi Parliament voted in the early Monday session on seven paragraphs of the controversial election law, out of 15, and decided to complete them in a session to be held next Saturday.
More than 75 independent deputies and emerging blocs oppose the bill because of the adoption of the 1.7 electoral representation formula according to the Saint-Lego system.[/rtl]
