    The Ministry of Transport announced, on Thursday, that the General Company for Iraqi Ports, one of the formations of the Ministry of Transport, has started paving one of the most important roads in the ports of Umm Qasr, pointing out that its length is (2650) meters, and it consists of two directions, back and forth, with a width of (16) meters.
    The ministry stated, in a statement received by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the General Company for Iraqi Ports, one of the formations of the Ministry of Transport, has begun to cover one of the most important roads in the ports of Umm Qasr, as part of projects related to the development of infrastructure, as it will contribute to facilitating the entry and exit process to the two ports."
    The company's director, Farhan Al-Fartousi, said, "The cladding of Road No. (1), which connects from the main gate (1,2,3) to the railway intersection in the ports of Umm Qasr, has begun, indicating that its length is (2650) meters, and it consists of Two directions back and forth with a width of (16) meters.
    He added that "the road is equipped with lighting poles, traffic signals, in addition to planning for the movement of cars, and it was implemented using a reinforced concrete method with a thickness of (25) cm in both directions, after which the process of covering with a layer of asphalt with a thickness of (5) cm, to maintain the durability and stability of the asphalt, from to bear large loads.
    He pointed out that "the road that runs at the entrance (27) is one of the facades of the Iraqi ports in its new look after the reconstruction and development plan that we launched during the last period."
