    [rtl]Baghdad-Iraq today:

    Australia has expressed its desire to strengthen relations with Iraq in five important sectors.[/rtl]

    [rtl]And the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, in a statement, that "Hisham Al-Alawi, Undersecretary for Political Planning Affairs, met the Australian Ambassador to Iraq, Paula Ganley, at the ministry's headquarters in Baghdad."[/rtl]
    [rtl]The statement added, "During the meeting, they discussed the results of the visit of the Australian special envoy to Baghdad last month, and explored opportunities to develop bilateral relations between Iraq and Australia and ways to improve them to serve the aspirations of the two friendly countries."[/rtl]
    [rtl]The Undersecretary affirmed, "The Iraqi side's desire to expand cooperation in the academic and professional fields through programs, training courses, and specialized scientific workshops to prepare and qualify diplomatic staff at the Foreign Service Institute," expressing his "aspiration to benefit from Australian academic and diplomatic expertise.”[/rtl]
    [rtl]For her part, Ambassador Ganley expressed her country's desire to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation between the two countries in important sectors, including energy, agriculture, education, health and security, for the benefit of both countries, in addition to its readiness to support the Foreign Service Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.[/rtl]
