On Friday, a member of the popular movement of the Silk Road in Diyala, Ali al-Hajiyya, revealed a movement to gather the elites of 11 provinces in Baquba.
Al-Hijiyah said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “The popular movement for the Silk Road in Diyala is leading a wide activity in order to gather economic and political elites and activists from 11 Iraqi provinces in Baquba during next April to hold the largest conference in order to demonstrate the positives of the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative project.”
He added, "The Chinese initiative, in which 140 countries have been involved, constitutes future prospects, and Iraq must be on its track in order to get rid of the dollar through a national currency basket that provides more stability, in addition to that it will give a strong impetus to large commercial and economic sectors in the country.”
He pointed out that "the conference, which will focus on the importance of reactivating the memorandums of understanding between Baghdad and Beijing, because it provides an important opportunity for progress, pointing out that America has failed in Iraq and has provided nothing but destruction in 20 years, which necessitated focusing on China's initiative, which has become the most comprehensive in supporting global economies." .
