Today, Saturday, the Strategic Planning and Federal Service Committee in the House of Representatives confirmed that the election law will be passed in today’s session.
The deputy head of the committee, Muhammad al-Baldawi, said, “The election law will be passed today, and there are partial disagreements about the law, which is the difference between (1.7) and (1.9). There are blocs that go to (1.9) and others that go to (1.7), and this is the main disagreement.” To deport the law and not to vote on it previously,” stressing that “the law has been agreed upon and all problems and differences around it have been resolved, and there is a clear decision from the state administration coalition to pass it.”
Al-Baldawi added, “The Iraqi constitution is clear and everyone voted and agreed on it, and it became a road map for political and administrative action in the country, and one of the provisions of this constitution is the central system or the administrative system for governorates that are not linked to a region, and here there must be a monitoring, follow-up and supervision apparatus, as well as policy-making, so the need has become It is urgent to elect provincial councils.

He continued, "The previous provincial councils were below the required level and even caused a lot of damage to the political process, but the abolition of the provincial councils is considered a violation of the constitution."
And the member of the committee stated, “With regard to the dispute over one constituency and multiple constituencies, today our system is parliamentary and it can pass any project through the votes it possesses in the House of Representatives for the benefit of the party it represents, as well as the masses elected it.”
And he continued: “Every project has pros and cons, and every action has supporters and opponents, and this is a very natural and healthy thing, but the House of Representatives is the one who decides through the number of votes that support this or that law.”
