    Baghdad today - Kurdistan
A member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Wafaa Karim, revealed today, Saturday, that the decision of the French court ruling dates back to the time of the Al-Kazemi government, but it appeared to the media now, while he reduced the importance of the ruling due to the agreement between Erbil and Baghdad in advance in line with the decision.
Karim said, in an interview with (Baghdad Today), that "winning the lawsuit and issuing the judicial decision was two months ago from now, and he has now gone out to the media."
Karim added, "The decision will not affect the region at all," noting that "the budget agreement basically stipulates that the Kurdistan government will hand over (400) thousand barrels of oil to the federal government, and oil exports will be with the flag of Baghdad."
And the Oil Ministry announced, earlier in the day, that it had won a lawsuit regarding the export of oil to Turkey.
And the ministry stated, in a statement, that "the final decision on exporting oil to Turkey was issued in favor of Iraq by the arbitral tribunal of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris last Thursday, March 23, 2023."
In its last weeks, the second government of Nouri al-Maliki filed a lawsuit with a commercial court affiliated with the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, regarding the Kurdistan Region's oil sales from Turkish territory.
It went through different stages. Former Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi froze it at the end of 2014, then did it in early 2017, before freezing it in his last days at the head of the government, then resigned Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi stopped it at the request of the Kurdish leadership.
Then came the Al-Kazemi government’s decision to activate the case again, after Al-Kazemi visited Turkey on December 17, 2020.
