Today, Saturday, an official source in the Kurdistan Regional Government revealed corruption in the Ministry of Natural Resources of the regional government, related to the distribution of white oil to citizens, while indicating that 70% of them have not yet received their share despite the end of winter.
The source told (Baghdad Today), “The Ministry of Natural Resources in the Kurdistan government began distributing white oil to citizens in the region on October 20 of 2022 until March 20, 2023, and after five months of distributing the oil, only white oil was planted on 383 thousand families.” There are 1,290,000 families in the region, or 29.7 percent of the total population of the region.
He added that "with the approaching end of winter and cold waves in Kurdistan, about 70 percent of the region's population has not yet received white oil," noting that "at a time when the regional government was distributing oil to citizens with 103 thousand Iraqi dinars, but at the height of the cold it arrived The price of one barrel in Kurdistan has reached about 300,000 dinars on the black market.
He pointed out that "the Erbil governorate obtained 45 percent of the total oil distributed to citizens in Kurdistan, at a rate of 174 thousand families, and Sulaymaniyah 31 percent, at a rate of 120 thousand families who received oil, and in Dohuk 85 thousand families received oil, at a time when the population density of Sulaymaniyah is more than of the population density in Erbil and Dohuk.
