    Economy News - Baghdad
DNO, the Norwegian oil and gas operator, announced on Wednesday that it has begun an "orderly shutdown of operating oil fields" in Kurdistan, it said in a statement on Wednesday.
"It is unfortunate that this is happening given the potential impact of continued supply disruptions on oil prices and at a fragile time for global financial markets," said Bijan Mosafar Rahman, CEO of DNO.
This comes four days after its decision to temporarily halt deliveries to the Iraqi-Turkish pipeline heading to the Mediterranean through the Turkish port of Ceyhan following an arbitration ruling in favor of Iraq against Turkey for exporting Kurdish oil without Baghdad's consent.
