A number of employees spoke to Alsumaria about the reasons that led to the sit-in, where they explained that “Since its formation, the Border Crossings Authority began to interfere with the work of the General Authority for Customs and interfere with the precise specialization of customs work in order to rob the simple employee’s rights through their endeavor to issue a decision from the Council of Ministers to take the sonar devices that It lies within the core of the customs work, and on the basis of it, the customs ratios are taken.

And they added, "This procedure was sought by the Border Ports Authority in order to deduct more than (50%) of the incentives that are given to the customs employee who bears working at the borders with low salaries that do not exceed the nominal salary and their reliance on these incentives."
And the employees emphasized that "their personal expenses during duties within the limits exceed their salaries and their dependence on these incentives, which means that they will not be able to practice their work in the future."
And they called on the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, to do justice to them and stand with them in restoring their rights and livelihoods, and to put an end to the interferences carried out by the Border Crossings Authority in their work.
