On Thursday, the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, met with the Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund in Iraq, Ghazi Shbeikat, in the presence of the Governor of the Central Bank, Ali Al-Alaq.

The media office of the Prime Minister said, in a statement followed by "NAS", (March 30, 2023), that "the meeting discussed Iraq's relationship with the International Monetary Fund, and cooperation in the field of supporting financial policies and plans, in a way that contributes to achieving stability in the Iraqi economy."
The statement added, "The meeting witnessed a discussion of the importance of the financial and administrative reforms adopted by the government, and supporting its efforts to combat corruption."
