the representative of the State of Law Coalition, Aref Abdel-Jalil Al-Hamami, revealed, on Friday, that he and his family had received a death threat from a group calling themselves "revolutionaries", indicating that he was seeking retribution from the perpetrator in accordance with the law and legal procedures.
Representative Aref Abdel-Jalil Al-Hamami said in a statement, a copy of which Mawazine News received, that "we do not take such threats into account, as we enjoy the love of our fans and our people in the city of Shatrah in particular and Dhi Qar Governorate in general, and we do not pay any attention to such reckless behavior."
Al-Hamami explained, "We have filed a lawsuit against the perpetrator, and we are seeking retribution from him, according to the deterrent punishment specified by the law. We do not accuse anyone at the present time, and we are waiting for the relevant authorities to find clues to this uncontrolled group that is not affiliated with the national authorities."
The statement pointed out that "MP Aref Al-Hamami was threatened via a written text message full of linguistic errors, in which he threatened to kill him and his family and burn his house and office, accompanied by two bullets, which were thrown at the door of his house by a person riding a motorcycle who was spotted by surveillance cameras. He was pursued by the security forces through the city’s cameras, and I found preliminary clues regarding the group behind it.” Ended 29 / H
