     Baghdad today-Baghdad
The Parliamentary Transportation and Communications Committee announced an expected hosting of Najaf Governor Majid Al-Waeli, head of the Civil Aviation Authority and director of Najaf Airport, to find out all the circumstances related to Najaf Airport.
The head of the committee, Deputy Zahra Al-Bajari, told (Baghdad Today) that "the most important files that will be discussed are the work of the airport and standing on the legal status of investing in Al-Najaf Airport, as well as reviewing the position of the investment license granted to a company and stating the legal position of the airport's financial revenues and where these imports go." .
She explained that "the committee will inquire about handing over the province its share, which amounts to 50 percent of the imports, according to the contract concluded between the province and a company inside the airport," adding that "hosting also includes reviewing the performance of the aviation authority in the technical and operational matters of the airport."
Najaf International Airport has been witnessing a great deal of corruption for years, until Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani recently pushed to change the airport director.
Perhaps the most prominent controversial issue in the Najaf Airport file is the statement of the head of the Civil Aviation Authority last month, when he said that the authority does not know the ownership of Najaf Airport and does not know where its revenues go.
