[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / - The Ministry of Transport announced, today, Thursday, the intention to activate mass transit in order to reduce traffic congestion.
And the ministry stated in a statement, “The ministry intends to provide a number of service projects in Baghdad and the provinces, through the fleet of the General Company for the Transport of Passengers and Delegations, in line with the ministerial program of Minister Razzaq Muhibis Al-Saadawi.”
She added, "The General Company for Transporting Passengers and Delegations has taken several steps towards operating those 505 cars belonging to the Baghdad taxi project," explaining that "250 of the total number of cars have been operated so far, while the rest of the Cars will be operated in projects under study." Including the Baghdad city taxi project, Najaf city taxi, and Fallujah city taxi.
And she continued, "The ministry is in the process of concluding several rental contracts and contracts for transporting employees of some ministries," indicating that "the General Company for the Transport of Passengers and Delegations owns a fleet of single- and double-decker buses." for mass transportation, which contributes to transporting citizens within the city of Baghdad, and within some provinces." And she noted, "There are directives from the minister to pay attention to mass transit, for several reasons, most notably reducing traffic congestion, and its low wages that serve the various segments of society, in addition to reducing carbon emissions ,
which contributes to improving the environment."
And she pointed out, "There is also (the Baghdad bus project) presented by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, to reduce traffic congestion in the capital," pointing out, "[/rtl]
