Shafaq News / The Ministry of Electricity in Kurdistan Region announced, on Friday, a decrease in the power supply rate by 330 megawatts in the "Karmyan" and "Khurmala" stations, due to the halt in oil production in the region.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Omid Ahmed said, in a statement received by Shafaq News agency, that the decision of the Paris court caused the halt of oil production in several fields of Kurdistan, and as a result, electricity production decreased.

He explained that, "Currently, in the Karmian power station, which produces energy from the gas of the Hasira oil fields, the electricity rate has decreased by 80 megawatts, and in the Khormala station in Erbil, production has decreased by an average of 250 megawatts."
Ahmed added, "With this, a total of 330 megawatts has decreased from the national electricity grid system," noting that the Ministry of Electricity is trying to compensate for the shortfall by relying on hydroelectric power from the Dukan and Darbandikhan dams and the Sulaymaniyah and Erbil gas stations.

On Saturday, March 25, the Federal Ministry of Oil announced that it had won the arbitration case filed by Iraq against Turkey regarding the export of crude oil from the Kurdistan Region through the Turkish port of Ceyhan, while it stated that it would discuss the export mechanism through the same port with the authorities. concerned in the region and the authorities in Ankara, according to the new data.
And Iraq stopped 450 thousand barrels per day of crude exports from the Kurdistan Region and the northern fields of Kirkuk, after the country won a long-term arbitration case against Turkey.
In a case dating back to 2014, Baghdad alleged that Turkey violated a joint agreement by allowing the KRG to export oil through a pipeline to the Turkish port of Ceyhan.
A senior official in the Iraqi Oil Ministry said, "The International Court of Arbitration officially informed the final ruling on Thursday, March 23, and it was in favor of Iraq."
A source said Türkiye had told Iraq it would respect the arbitration ruling.
Turkish navigation officials told Iraqi employees of the Ceyhan Turkish Oil Export Center that no ship would be allowed to load Kurdistan Region's crude without the approval of the Iraqi government, according to Reuters.

Today, Friday, the Gulf Key Stone oil company operating in the Kurdistan region announced the suspension of the work of the last fathers in the oil fields that it is responsible for inside the region, pursuant to the Iraqi government's decision to stop exporting oil from the region, following the decision of the International Court in Paris.
The company said, according to what was reported by Bloomberg and translated by (Baghdad Today), that it "has completely stopped work in the Sheikhan fields, while work continues to transfer the remaining oil to storage during the next two weeks, expecting that the closure will be" temporary "as described.
And she stressed that "the stopping of the production of the Golf Key Stone Company, one of the largest companies operating in the region, led to a" deterioration "in the crisis between the region and the center," noting that "the two parties will hold extensive meetings next week to discuss the crisis, which she said may lead to Re-launching 400,000 barrels of oil exports to the market again.
She explained that "the latest field closures proved that the government decision is continuing to be implemented, which led to increased concern about the safety of oil exports to global markets, according to the network, which also confirmed that oil prices witnessed another rise today, with the price of a barrel of oil reaching $79."
And she continued, "The continued expectations of a rise in prices prompted the US government to" urge Baghdad and Erbil" to resolve the outstanding differences over the export of oil as soon as possible. That "the exit from the current closure is in the hands of the regional government, it must accept the handover of the management of its oil export to the SOMO company."
Richard Bruns, an expert in energy affairs for the Energy Aspect Center, assured the network, "We have previously seen these provisions. There is a logical opportunity for the two parties to reach a kind of deal that will re-export oil through Turkish pipelines, at a time that may be sooner than we expect," according to his description.
The closure decision also led to the loss of 17% of the value of their name by Golf Key Stone Company, while the shares of the Norwegian company DNO fell by 5.6%.
