Today, Friday, the Ministry of Water Resources confirmed the success of the water management policy pursued by the current government, and while it announced the complete fulfillment of the weaning irrigation system, it indicated that the recent rains will contribute to the formation of vegetation cover and mitigate the effects of pollutants.

The ministry's spokesman, Khaled Shamal, said: "The rain that falls from the Samarra Dam in the north is beneficial and influential because it can be pushed into the reservoirs, whether the reservoirs are at the front of the dams such as Mosul Dam, Darbandikhan Dam, Hamrin Dam and Al-Azim Dam, in addition to Lake Tharthar or Lake Habbaniya."

Shamal added, "We have completely achieved the goal of weaning, and when the rains increase, we will work to stop the pressure on the reservoirs and not push other water releases into the Tigris and Euphrates columns."

And that "these rains will contribute to the formation of vegetation cover, which will lead to an increase in the discharges of the Euphrates rivers, and thus mitigate the effects of pollutants and concentrations of toxic substances."

He stated, "Since the formation of the current government four months ago, we have been preserving the strategic storage, rather it has increased, and this indicates the success of the water management policy pursued by the current government, which was represented by rationing and rationalizing uses and rationing water releases, as well as implementing a strict and fair water distribution policy, in addition to implementing The shift and marshanah system, and the campaign to remove abuses, which resulted in securing water delivery to all regions.
