Today, Friday, a large number of retired borrowers complained about the deduction and withdrawal of their salaries in full by the Rasheed Bank, after the salary disbursement letters arrived, only to discover that the bank had deducted the payments for two consecutive months at once.
The volume of deduction is 245,000 per month, but the retirees who are borrowers who hold palm cards on Al-Rashid Bank have received messages to deduct 490,000 Iraqi dinars, that is, to deduct payments for two consecutive months once, which means that the total retirees whose salaries do not exceed 500,000 dinars have received only 10 thousand Iraqi dinars or less this month.
And “Baghdad Today” monitored a number of complaints from a large number of retirees who borrowed from Al-Rasheed Bank, and they are still broadcasting their complaints on social media without obtaining clarification from the concerned authorities, and neither the Rasheed Bank nor the Pension Authority issued any clarification about this matter or whether it was a technical error. Or intended, and what is the fate of the deducted payments.
The batch of large deductions, which caused the end of the salaries of some retirees in full before they received them, comes amid the high prices and the Iraqis are still in the month of Ramadan and the advent of Eid, at a time when the retirees rely heavily on their monthly salaries to pay their rent obligations, pay generators’ wages and shop foodstuffs.
