    Baghdad today - Baghdad
The leader in the coordination framework, Turki Al-Atbi, confirmed today, Sunday, that the recent disputes that ravaged the Sovereignty Alliance, which escalated in severity, were a major reason behind the Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, granting himself a 15-day leave.
Al-Atbi told (Baghdad Today) that "the escalating disagreements between the poles of sovereignty are the real reason behind Al-Halbousi giving himself leave for a period of two weeks," noting that "the alliance of sovereignty suffers from sharp conflicts and disagreements that have begun to exacerbate recently."
He added, "Away from the sovereignty struggles, al-Halbousi remains the head of the pyramid in the legislative authority, and his approval with the start of discussions on the general budget for 2023 will harm the stages of its discussion, which represents the rights of 40 million Iraqis."
The leader pointed out in the framework, that "any delay in approving the budget will bear the repercussions of the presidency of the Council on the Iraqi street," stressing that "the general situation requires initiative and speed in the implementation of important laws in the country and not taking vacations suddenly."
And last Thursday, 30/3/2023, the Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, granted himself a 15-day leave, starting from the 3rd of April.
According to a document seen by (Baghdad Today), Al-Halbousi authorized the First Deputy to manage the Council’s sessions, and to authorize the First Deputy and the Deputy Speaker of Parliament to follow up on the work of the parliamentary committees during the vacation period .
Al-Halbousi was subjected to severe criticism due to the process of managing the voting session on the "St. Lego" law and summoning the Parliament's security forces to expel the deputies who objected to holding the session.
